ARAMIS 3D Camera 12M

Sensor for a wide range of testing tasks

ARAMIS 3D Camera 12M is suitable for quasi-static testing applications from small material samples to large structural components. With a resolution of 12 megapixels and a maximum image recording rate of 25 fps at full resolution, the sensor offers the right performance to reliably determine material characteristics or to record and evaluate bending tests on aircraft wings, for example.

ARAMIS SRX

Sensor for high-end applications

ARAMIS SRX is a high-resolution 3D camera system for demanding measuring tasks which require both capturing an event in detail over time and capturing local effects. With an image recording rate of 335 images per second at full resolution and upto 2000 with reduced resolution, the sensor is suitable for measuring 3D displacements, rotations, speeds and accelerations in crash tests, among other things.

ARAMIS ADJUSTABLE

Modular camera system

The most versatile system, individually expandable and customisable to the needs of the test. With up to 24M cameras, it's the most precise 2D and 3D device within the range for analysing statically or dynamically stressed components and materials.

The ideal solution for product development, materials research and component testing

Making reliable decisions

Analysis with ARAMIS provide detailed information into material properties and component behaviour under load. These results underpin product durability, geometry design, accurate numerical simulations, and their validation.

SAVE TIME & Money

Test preparation is time-consuming and expensive using strain gauges, accelerometers and LVDTs. Using our optical products from ZEISS, test preparation is simplified and much reduced and gives far greater datasets to be used in the analysis and validation process.

Precise 3D measurement

Scaleable solutions to suit the test object. The ARAMIS sensors combined with their measuring volumes can validate samples from less than 50mm x 50mm to micro resolution. And samples of 5000mm x 5000mm as standard using standard configurations. For the more ambitious, multiple systems or special set ups have seen set ups beyond 20metres in size.

ZEISS Correlate

The ZEISS CORRELATE software offers the entire workflow from measurement data acquisition to analysis and reporting. It combines the synchronized image and analog data acquisition of the ARAMIS sensors with the evaluation functionality of the ZEISS INSPECT software.

Fields of Applications

Material Characterisation

Precise full-field ARAMIS measurement results enhance the accuracy of material parameters, optimising existing evaluation methods for greater reliability—such as determining flow and forming limit curves. Some material tests are only possible due to ARAMIS’s non-contact measurement approach and high spatial resolution. This technology supports a wide range of testing applications, including tensile, shear, compression, and three-point bending tests, as well as high-speed and temperature-dependent analyses.

Prototypes

Testing Prototypes, Components, and Structural Parts with ARAMIS enables precise stiffness analyses, vibration assessments, fatigue strength testing, and crash evaluations. Its measurement data provides the foundation for product lifespan predictions, load limit determination, and optimised geometry design. During load testing, ARAMIS captures the real component geometry, including non-linear deformation behaviour, enabling direct comparison with FEM data for enhanced validation and optimisation.

Validating simulation

Validating Numerical Simulations with ARAMIS sensors delivers critical data on material properties, component deformation behaviour, and test setup boundary conditions—providing essential input for simulation models and key comparison variables for optimisation and validation. The software supports direct import of Finite Element (FE) data from ABAQUS, PAMSTAMP, LS-DYNA, ANSYS, and AUTOFORM, enabling precise 3D alignment with measurement data for enhanced simulation accuracy.
