Our Technology

Delta XD combines cutting-edge technologies with industry-leading expertise to deliver world-class measurement solutions.

Delta XD employs cutting-edge 3D optical scanning technology to measure complex geometries and intricate surfaces with remarkable precision. Using laser lines or structured light techniques, millions of data points are captured optically every second. This advanced process creates highly accurate, detailed 3D digital twin, ranging from the smallest parts to large assemblies, without physical contact—ensuring precision while preserving the object's integrity.

How Does It Work?

3D optical scanners project a pattern of light (often structured light or laser lines) onto an object. As the light interacts with the surface, cameras or sensors capture how the pattern deforms, allowing the system to map even the most intricate features with high fidelity. The result is a point cloud or mesh, which is then converted into a precise 3D model of the object.

Advantages of 3D Optical Scanning:

Non-Contact Precision

Unlike traditional measurement methods, 3D optical scanners do not require physical contact, reducing the risk of damaging delicate or sensitive parts.

High Speed and Accuracy

With the ability to capture millions of data points in less than a second, these scanners provide rapid, detailed insights into a component’s geometry, minimising downtime and improving workflow efficiency.

Comprehensive Data Capture

3D scanning captures everything from complex curves to small surface details that might be missed by traditional methods, enabling a more thorough analysis and inspection.

Versatility

Suitable for a range of materials and surfaces, 3D optical scanners can handle diverse applications, from part validation and reverse engineering to rapid prototyping and quality control.

An overview of our capabilities

T-SCAN hawk 2

Our go-to system for projects away from our office.

This powerhouse of technology makes light work of scanning small and large objects. With a conservative MPE of 0.020mm +0.015mm/m, 3x scanning modes this is the right solution when you need to be quick, mobile and confident of the data quality.

We have used this system all over the world due to it's portability and convenience. There's a good chance you'll see this on your project with us for large volume metrology, reverse engineering and general inspection tasks.

ZEISS ATOS 5

The highest resolution structured light sensor available, the ZEISS ATOS 5 is the benchmark standard for 3D metrology.

We have an automated version in our ScanBox, and a manual version which is in the lab and travels to customer sites when needed.

Fully equipped with all measuring volumes from MV170 up to MV1000, there's no project we can't handle.

TRITOP

The 3D coordinate based metrology system is a staple piece of hardware in our portfolio.

Used as a standalone coordinate based system for large objects like pipes, antenna surfaces, and offshore set ups the accuracy of results is outstanding. Quicker, simpler to set up than laser tracker solutions you'll find TRITOP used on most of our projects as a standalone system or in combination with 3D scanning.

ZEISS ATOS ScanBox 5120

For the repeat tasks, speed, efficiency and our Aerospace customers, our ScanBox is the right solution. Parts upto 2000mm and 500kg are light work for this set up which is complimented by the perfect temperature controlled lab where it sits.

We can handle any combination of part size with are various measuring volumes for the ATOS 5 and ATOS Plus 29M sensor and all processes come with the quality assurance of our AS9100D certified processes and handling.
